Stream Mode FAQ

Does Stream Mode affect browser performance?

No. Stream Mode uses lightweight CSS filters and efficient pattern matching. Most users report zero noticeable impact on browser speed or stream quality.

Will Stream Mode work if I open a new tab?

Yes! Once Stream Mode is active, it applies to all Chrome tabs - existing ones and any new ones you open. No need to re-enable for each tab.

Can I customize the keyboard shortcut?

Absolutely. Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts and set your preferred key combination for StreamBlur's Stream Mode toggle.

What happens to detected secrets?

They're blurred visually using CSS - the actual content is never modified, copied, or transmitted anywhere. Everything stays local to your browser. See our privacy architecture for details.
